Crikey! That's a lot of B-25s. Studio magic, or are there really that many still flying (at least back then)? I've never seen that movie. All I know about it I read in a Mad Magazine satire back in the day.
You've been pretty scarce lately. Or else I just missed you.

From IMDB :
Director Mike Nichols wanted 36 B-25s to create the big Army Air Force base, but the budget couldn't stretch to more than 17 flyable Mitchells. An additional non-flyable hulk was acquired in Mexico, made barely ferry-able and flown with landing gear down to location, only to be burned and destroyed in the landing crash scene. The wreck was then buried in the ground next to the runway, where it remains to this day.

work / kid stuff has been busy. Start of the new year and all that. Also not sure what I want to write about. The big aviation sub blogs are great, but they have also kind of sucked the air out of planelopnik.

They have, and I think that the sub blogs have actually made Oppo a more boring place. I dig cars, but with all the off-topic stuff in its own little place, there's a lot less on Oppo. People shouldn't have to apologize for OT posts. There are still a few Planelops around, and I'm trying to post at least one a day or so. I'm thinking of starting a #KOOT campaign: Keep Oppo Off Topic.
I did a big Alexander Kartveli post last week that few people saw but I enjoyed writing. At least I learned something. And I'm trying to keep the "2sday" theme going but I'm running out of 2s. Got any suggestions? I'm going to try to do a write up on the B-45, but I might hold that until "Tornado Tuesday".
I can certainly understand busy. Throw a picture up once in a while when you can, and keep your eye on Planelopnik. And watch for #KOOT.
